Office of International Affairs UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta organized a Leadership Training on Thursday and Friday, 22-23 October 2015 in East Parc Hotel, Yogyakarta. The training was attended by the Vice Deans, Head of Departments and lecturers of UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta. The leadership training was organized in cooperation between UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta with Capa House, Denmark. The training facilitator was Mr. Bjarne Kastberg, CEO and Senior Partner of Capa House.

UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta has signed an MoU with Capa House in 2013. Areas of cooperation with Capa House are Education and Capacity Building of Human Resources (HR), Research and Community Services. This training is the implementation of cooperation in the field of capacity building.

Training materials were adapted from the book "The Power of Leadership" which was written by Finn Van Hauen, Bjarne Kastberg and Arlene Soden. Finn Van Hauen and Bjarne Kastberg are senior partners in the Scandinavian Training Design, Denmark, and Arlene Soden is a Managing Director at Soliv Group, USA. These authors have international recognition in the field of leadership. The book has been translated into Indonesian and distributed to all the participants of the training. The core of this training is to learn to transform values ​​into action with re-organizing supervision. The participants were introduced to various types of leadership and the importance of the vision alignment between all components of the organization to achieve organizational goals. The participants were also trained in problem solving. After this training, all participants are expected to develop their leadership potential, and contribute in accordance with their respective roles in the UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta.
