SLEMAN - Implementation of Real Work Lecture (KKN) - PPN UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta (UPNVY) Gasal period of 2017 takes place on October 25 to November 25 in three regencies in Special Region of Yogyakarta. In Bantul, KKN took place in Pundong, Sanden and Pandak sub-districts as many as 897 students, in Sleman it took place in Ngemplak sub-district as many as 159 students, while in Kulonprogo in Kecamatan Lendah there were 51 students.

Towards the closing, Rector UPNVY, Prof. Dr. Ir. Sari Bahagiarti K, M.Sc together with the group, conducted monitoring and evaluation on the implementation of KKN on Thursday (23/11) in Bantul and Kulonprogo districts.

In Kelurahan Srigading, Sanden Subdistrict UPNVY students who do KKN amounted to 123 people spread in 12 Hamlet. Implementation of KKN in this region is the theme of community empowerment through the movement of UMKM and creative economy to welcome Srigading as coastal agro tourism area.

One of the field supervisors, Dr. Herlina Jayadianti who attended the UPNVY Rector said Srigading area in the coastal area of ??Samas beach has economic potency if it’s developed well. Students participating KKN in this region in cooperation with the community managed the existed potency.

"The examples are processed chaff of this former harvest into a potentially economic planting medium. In addition, students worked together with the residents to hold a contest creation of recycled materials," said the lecturer of Informatics Engineering.

On the same occasion, the Rector of UPNVY would like to thank the Sub-District, Sub-District and Dusun who had received UPNVY students. Rector hoped that the activities that had been implemented could be held by the community.

"The cooperation between UPN and the Government of Bantul Regency has been tied up with the Memorandum of Understanding, in which case we hope to be followed up with the Cooperation Agreement by the Kecamatan. Hopefully the existing cooperation can be improved, " she said.

Meanwhile, in Dusun Gluntung Kidul, Caturharjo Subdistrict, Pandak Sub-District, KKN students seemed enthusiastically presenting biogas processed cow dung. In front of the Rector, the students demonstrated the results of the research during their service in Dusun Gluntung Kidul.

While in Kecamatan Lendah, Kulonprogo, KKN students created organic pesticides for plants. This pesticide was the result of processed burning garbage. (wwj / humas)
