TRIBUNJOGJA.COM, YOGYA - In the era of increasingly fierce competition, a community empowerment including the peasants becomes important. Faculty of Agriculture UPN Veteran Yogyakarta  held a national seminar titled 'Reactualization of Community Empowerment In Free Era Competition' to discuss it comprehensively.

Faculty of Agriculture UPN Veteran Yogyakarta in cooperation with Agricultural Faculty Alumni Association UPN Veteran Yogyakarta held the event. The event was held on 9 to 11 December 2016. The event featured speakers from the government, entrepreneurs, international companies and academics.

"In this seminar we will discuss the aspects of policy regulation, empirical experience and academic review from institutional, structural and cultural aspects in community empowerment," explained Dean of Faculty of Agriculture UPN, Partoyo, Friday (2/12/2016).

He added that Faculty of Agriculture UPN is very concern about community empowerment, where they have several areas built in DIY like Imogiri Bantul to Wonosobo Central Java. In addition to the event, there will be agricultural products exhibition that presents the perpetrators of the agricultural industry, culinary, horticulture and SMEs who are partners of UPN Faperta.

"Our goal is to introduce a local quality community product made directly by the community," he added.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the Alumni Association of Agriculture Faculty UPN Mursupriyani Ambar added that the event would be deliberately held together with the national consensus agenda, as well as alumni meeting to show that alumni of Faperta UPN are also very concerned with community empowerment. In addition to the seminar, the alumni continued with the social event in the form of 1000 pine trees and passion fruit trees in the village built in Imogiri Bantul.

"It is  not only  how  it works, but also we want to show a shared culture in FP UPN Yogyakarta," added the woman who is familiarly called Yani. (*)
