SLEMAN - A total of 400 lecturers and educational staff (tendik) of UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta (UPNVY) forged a basic military training in the framework of education defending the State. They were trained by instructors from the Air Force Academy (AAU) Yogyakarta Saturday - Sunday (9-10 / 12/2017).

Vice Rector for Student Affairs and Cooperation, Dr.Singgih Saptono, MT said this training was UPNVY program in creating the character of State defend to lecturer and staff.

"This training is a program to support the vision of UPN Veteran Yogyakarta to print the pioneer of development, as the State Defense campus in the global era," he said in his opening speech on Saturday (9/12/2017).

Singgih added that this training was the second time. Previously, a similar training was held in August followed by 400 participants. The next one will also be held next year with participants from both tenders and students.

The Director of AAU Assessment Colonel Nav Budi Handoy in his speech representing the Governor of AAU conveyed that the true defense of the state was a form of obligation of every Indonesian citizen to form understanding and character of  state defending  including leadership and the state defending spirit.

"The implementation of this training is expected to increase the insight and understanding of defending the country and apply it in educating the students as well as in the life of the state and society," he opened the training.

During the two-day event, the trainees received materials on national insights, briefings from Kemhan, deradicalisation, Basic Military Regulations, Linear Line Rules and Materials of State Defense.
