SLEMAN – UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta (UPNVY) got the first rank in the assessment of the Synergy of Indonesian State Defense Campus (SKBNI) in 2017. Together with four other universities, UPNVY was entitled to receive trophies and certification as a campus committed to implement the values ??of the State defenses. The award was submitted directly by the Director General of Science and Technology and Higher Education, Prof. Ali Gufron Mukti at the Open Senate Meeting for the 59th UPNVY Anniversary, Friday (15/12/2017).

The other four campuses received the award  were UPN East Java, Muria University, Panca Budi University, and Timor University.

For UPNVY, this award was a 59th Anniversary gift.

"We thank you for being trusted to achieve this ranking. This is a mandate for us to continue to implement and instill the values ??of defending the State, "said Rector UPNVY, Prof. Sari Bahagiarti after receiving the award.

SKBNI 2017 is a program initiated by UPNVY to invite all universities in Indonesia committed to implement the values ??of state defense. State Defense Campus rating is implemented nationally as one of the benchmarks of the implementation of defending State in the academic environment.

The rating SKBNI conducted is independently and judged by the jury based on the indicators of value mainly related to tri dharma of the  college. Other indicators in the assessment are related to the love of the country, the implementation of Pancasila and so on. The jury involves various parties, such as community leaders, from other universities as well as from the Ministry of Defense, Kemenristek Dikti to journalists. The members of the jury were Prof. DR. Ir. C. Danisworo, M.Sc from UPNVY, Dr. Didi Wahidin, M.Pd from Kemristekdikti, Kol (Inf) Edi Santoso from Kemhan, Drs. H. Haryadi, Daily Council of the 45th Generation, and Agung Purwandono, Chief Editor of the People's Sovereign Online.
