SLEMAN - The graduation ceremony is one of the important moments in the academic life at UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta (UPNVY). Graduation is also a momentum of UPNVY to present the quality human resources for the nation of Indonesia.

"In organizing Tridharma Perguruan Tinggi, UPN consolidates all its potential to transform into State Universities that excel with the character and spirit of defending the country," said Rector UPNVY, Prof. Dr. Ir. Sari Bahagiarti, MSc at Graduation Diploma, Bachelor, and Masters of the 2nd  Academic Year of 2017/2018 at WR Auditorium. Supratman, UPNVY Condong Catur Campus, Saturday (13/01/2017).

He said a number of UPNVY's efforts are in the way of improving facilities and infrastructure, upgrading research and innovation culture, increasing the capacity of university human resources and extending international partnerships.

In addition, at the age of 59 years, UPNVY has incised the achievement of getting the first rank of the implementation of Bela Negara Indonesia, in cooperation between UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta, Kemristekdikti, and Ministry of Defense, in December 2017.

UPNVY's commitment to be a State University has been proven with good predicate on UPNVY Bureau Reform Map Road 2017-2019 evaluated by Kemenristekdikti Team. On the Bureaucratic Reform Road Map, UPNVY targets Quick Win, an Integrated Information System, and has been implemented since January 2017.

"At this time, the number of universities in Indonesia that implement bureaucracy reform has not been much.  UPN is one of those who implement it, "he said accompanied by graduation applause and the guests who attended.

Sari also gave a message to the graduates, students to continue to develop science and create a variety of innovations as the stock of the Indonesian nation to be independent and competitive in the era of globalization.

"I hope that the provision of knowledge in college can be used as a preparation to help the student build a beloved nation, beloved nation, intelligently, vigorously and sincerely with the spirit of discipline, stance, and creativity," she said.

On this Saturday, UPNVY conducted a graduation ceremony for Master program as many as 47 people, Bachelor program as many as 506 people, and Diploma as one person. (wwj / humas)
