UPN Veteran Yogyakarta Wants to Recommend World Maritime Shaft to Students :: dipost pada 09 Februari 2018

TRIBUNJOGJA.COM - Universitas Pembangunan Nasional (UPN) "Veteran" Yogyakarta wants to introduce further government policy on World Maritime Axis especially to the new students.

 That's what makes it held a public lecture delivered by the Coordinating Minister for the Ministry of Marine Affairs, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, Friday (9/2/2018).

The general lecture was held at Auditorium UPN Veteran Yogyakarta and started around 10.00 WIB.

 The theme of this public lecture was the Development of Indonesian Maritime Industries and Services to Realize the Vision of the World Maritime Axis.

 Ludiro Madu, the Event Coordinator said that the purpose of this event was expected to have new ideas and vision at the local level, so that the vision of the world maritime axis could reach the students of UPN Veteran Yogyakarta, especially the batch of 2016 and 2017.

"This is urgent, because all this time we are looking at maritime just as a sea, but we want to realize that there is a sector of maritime industry and services that we need to pay attention," said Ludiro told tribunjogja.com when interviewed at the location of the event.

This general lecture did not belong to a single discipline, but all disciplines were interconnected each other.

Then, Ludiro added, this lecture was a follow-up cooperation between the Center of Defense and Security Studies (Pushankam) UPN Veteran Yogyakarta with Kemenko Kemaritiman Deputy II, coordinating the field of natural resources and services.

 The cooperation is realized in the form of maritime seminar which has been held in 2016 and 2017.

"The two seminars spawned the formation of a maritime study community of 40 academics and practitioners from all over Indonesia," said Ludiro.

He added that the maritime study community has produced four books, one book was in 2016, and three books were generated in 2017.

The four books are divided into three main topics: maritime industry and services, maritime tourism, and maritime security.

Meanwhile, based on the monitoring of Tribun Jogja, the general lecture participants, consisting of students, lecturers, and invited guests, had presente at the event location since 09.00 WIB.

According to Ludiro, it was estimated that the general lecture participants would reach about 2,000 participants.

In this general lecture, UPN Veteran Yogyakarta required the students of of 2016 and 2017 classes to attend it as general lecture participants. (tribunjogja)
