SURYA.co.id | TUBAN - Student of Petroleum Engineering Faculty of UPN Veteran Yogyakarta should be proud. It is because some alumni of this state campus have successfully pursued a career in oil and gas companies.
"Today we visit Banyu Urip Field, and it turns out that the one who received us was UPN alumni as well," said Ravino Ichsan, a student who participated in the group of 20 students.
Abi Nugraha, the 6th semester student recognized similar thing, he is proud of his senior. He is also increasingly eager to pursue the world of oil and gas.
" I learned a lot in this Banyu Urip Field," he said eagerly.
Petroleum Engineering Students conducted a Visit to Banyu Urip Field on Thursday (8/2/2018).
The group was accepted by Disjon Tindaje, the Competency Assurance Standard Coordinator at ExxonMobil Cepu Limited (EMCL) Training Department.
"Indonesian people should excel in managing oil and gas, so you need to study diligently and enterprisingly," said Disjon in his presentation.
Disjon shared his experience working in the oil and gas industry for decades. In order to compete internationally, he suggested the students to master English.
"This language is very important because we must admit that the current technology is still controlled by foreign countries," he said.
Disjon also gave an explanation about the operation in Banyu Urip Field. After that, students are invited to visit the location and see the facilities closely.
"We often have these kind of activities to introduce our activities to the community," said EMCL spokesman, Rexy Mawardijaya who also joined the UPN Yogyakarta students.
Rexy explained, EMCL really appreciates the community support for the success of Banyu Urip Field project so far.
According to him, the support can be obtained if people recognize ang know Field of Banyu Urip, for its form, how EMCL implements high standards
"One way to introduce ourselves through a visit like this," he added.
Rexy said, this kind of community visit has been routinely done since two years ago.
They have students, teachers, PKK mothers, village heads, government agencies, community organizations, and others as visitors.
"Not every time people can come here, because of the safety aspect. Upstream oil and gas operations are full of risks, the most important thing is safety, "he said
