SLEMAN, KRJOGJA.com - Dozens of spiky bamboo with red and white flags at the end began to be installed at Monument Jogja Kembali (Monjali), Thursday (22/02/2018) afternoon. Some people from the team of Nature Lovers Students (Mapala) Universitas Pembangunan Nasional (UPN) Veteran Yogyakarta looked serious having the bamboo statues symbolized the struggle aroung the monument cone despite the sting hot weather.
Apparently, they were on a mission of installing 1,500 spiky bamboo to commemorate the Serangan Oemoem (SO) of March 1st. The museum initiated this commemorate which was then executed by Mapala UPN as one of the volunteers.
Zaeni Mansyur, Technical Team for 1500 Bambu Roundabout when met KRJOGJA.com revealed the initial idea of this ??installation came after having the dialogue with the museum. Because bamboo spears was a tool of struggle in the period of independence which is still precisely used as a symbol of resistance of the nation independence.
"The number of the bamboo was deliberately selected 1500 pieces as a tribute to the 1,500 fighters who participated in the attack event Serangan Oemoem on March 1, 1949. We starts the target with the completion on 27 February 2018, "he said.
Zaeni revealed not only Mapala UPN who took a part in installing 1,500 bamboo in Monjali. On 24-25 February, the public took a part in the agenda that would be included in the Museum Rekor Indonesia (MURI).
"This agenda has been registered to MURI and anyone can join in installing bamboo spears in this Monjali for two days 24-25 February. It will certainly be an unforgettable experience to take part in a memory of historical events, "he continued.
As it was planned, bamboo spikes would be mounted on Monjali cone and installed by Single Roof technique. Not only in the cone, but 1,500 bamboo would also be installed with certain series of forms during the ceremony of SO 1 March in Monjali front yard. (Fxh)
