TEMPO.CO, Sleman - Thousands of bamboo spears were set up in Yogja Kembali Monument, Sleman District, on the memorizing of the Serangan Oemum (SO) 1 March 1949.

The erection of 1500 bamboo spears was done by rock climbing team of Nature Lovers Student (Mapala) of Universitas Pembangunan Nasional (UPN) "Veteran" Yogyakarta on 21 until 28 February 2018. They were also assisted by other volunteers.

This activity successfully recorded Monument Jogja Kembali (Monjali) at Museum Rekor Dunia Indonesia (MURI).

The Sleman Regent Head, Sri Purnomo who acted as the leader of SO 1st March anniversary ceremony in the monument  hoped that  the record in MURI could be an encouragement for the managementr of Jogja Kembali Monument.

"It is expected that the service at Jogja Monument will be maximized again, so it could be a magnet of its own." Become a tourist destination which has many more and more (visitors) come here, "he said.

The chairman of the committee, Nanang Dwinarto said Monument Jogja Back as a tourist attraction also has an education mission. "The monument of Jogja Kembali is an important event reminder of the return of the Indonesian Government from the Dutch rule," he said.

The ceremony was attended by the Head of Museum, Students, Students of  Papua Boarding, Students of Pondok Pesantren, Mapala Yogyakarta, and Museum Ambassadors. All the participants wore yellow coconut leaves as a sign and some wore independence fighter clothes.
