SLEMAN - Research Center for Mineral Geotechnology UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta (UPNVY) held an education and training for the improvement of Health and Safety (K3) of Oil and Gas for operators and supervisors in mining and petroleum sector on Thursday (22/03/2018) at Museum of Mineral Geotechnology, UPN Camparsari Campus.

This training would be held for four days from 22 - 25 March 2018.

Head of Research Center for Mineral Geotechnology UPNVY as the person in charge of the program, Dr. Nur Suhascaryo said the training was to prepare UPNVY graduates and professionals in mining and oil and gas industry who were competent to compete.

"This year is the second year for holding the training, it was previously in the last month. Now it means it has been held for the sixth time, "he said.

Nur said the competence of K3 was very important for fresh graduates and professionals. Furthermore, he hoped that there would be an implemented professional training in the field of oil and gas such as welth control, oil well management, etc.

The Secretary of UPNVY Research and Community Service Institute, Dr. Hendro Widjanako who  presented to give speech mentioned the importance of competence of Health and Safety (K3) of Oil and Gas in the world of work.

"This certification is very important in the era of AFTA, even more we as a lecturer must also have certification. This certification is to support the work," he said.

According to him, the  human resources competency of K3 experts was still limited and wouldbe a barrier for working in a company. Whereas K3 HR Competence plays an important role in the success of OSH Program in the Company.

Rector of UPNVY, Prof. Sari Bahagiari K. opened K3 training for operators and supervisors level in mining and petroleum which was followed by about 25 participants from all over Indonesia (wwj / humas)
