BRI Distributes Education Credits at UPNVY :: dipost pada 16 April 2018

SLEMAN - UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta (UPNVY) together with PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk signed a Cooperation Agreement to encourage acceleration of student loan disbursement or to finance  facilities for education through cooperation with university institutions. The agreement was signed by UPNVY Rector, Prof Sari Bahagiarti K along with BRI's Consumer Director, Handayani, at the lt.1 Meeting Room, UPNVY Rectorate Building, Thursday (12/4/2018).

The points of the cooperation agreement are the provision of BRI's student loan facilities (Briguna Pendidikan) for S-2 and S-3 UPNVY students.

Sari said her party appreciated the cooperation. "Having this partnership, UPNVY Graduate students have access of financing education very easily. We hope Briguna Pendidikan can be utilized by students who have entered and who will enter UPN, so it will ease the burden of the graduate students in UPN, " she said.

Handayani said the program was a commitment of BRI to improve the quality of education in Indonesia, as well as the response of the President's directive who wants banks to provide financing facilities for students.

Student loan called Briguna Pendidikan is a financing facility whose scheme devoted to S2 and S3 students who already have a fixed wage / income.

This product has the advantage of the flexibility of a grace period or payment time slack, ie the student is allowed to pay only the interest running during college education.

Meanwhile, the main loan can be paid after the student graduated until the loan period expires.

"With this flexible financing scheme, BRIGUNA Pendidikan is expected to increase the public interest for higher education, so that Bank BRI directly contributes to the improvement of education quality in Indonesia," Handayani said.

Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, M.Irhas Effendi admits that currently some students have financial difficulties. They usually make a refutation letter of Single Tuition (UKT) or letter of delayed payment.

"Undergraduate students usually often experience cost constraints, we hope BRI can create a similar program for them," said Irhas.

Having  the credit of this low-interest education, hopefully the students can be enjoy it widely and can improve the competitiveness of human resources. (wwj / humas)
