SLEMAN - The graduation ceremony is one of the important moments in the academic life at UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta (UPNVY). Graduation is also a momentum of UPNVY to present quality human resources for the nation of Indonesia.

"On this occasion I will convey some information about the development and activities UPN" Veteran "Yogyakarta," said Rector UPNVY, Prof. Dr. Ir. Sari Bahagiarti, MSc at Graduation Diploma, Bachelor, and Masters of the 2nd  Academic Year 2017/2018 at WR Auditorium. Supratman, UPNVY Condong Catur Campus, Saturday (21/04/2018).

Sari said UPNVY participated in the acceptance of the National Selection of State University Entrance (SNMPTN) this year which was announced on April 17, 2018.

"In this selection UPN" Veteran "Yogyakarta received 911 camaba and prepared for SBMPTN selection and independent path," he said.

In this first semester, UPNVY also got an achievement obtained by students and faculty.

"On January 24-26, 2018 UPN Students successfully won the competition in Oil and Gas Intellectual Competition (OGIP) 2018. UPN is also actively involved in 7th  Passage to ASEAN (P2A) in Malaysia," she said.

This year UPNVY together with four other state universities, continued Sari, agreed to form a University Consortium for the Open Mining Method (KUMPT).

UPNVY is also active in the 2018 Regional Geoheritage Conference in Khon Kaen Province, Thailand. This conference is officially the first forum of tripartite conferences for Indonesia-Malaysia-Thailand countries.

Sari also gave a message to the graduates that they had to continuelly develop science and create a variety of innovations for Indonesian to be independent and competitive in the era of globalization.

"I hope that the provision of knowledge in college can be used as a preparation to  intelligently, vigorously and sincerely build a beloved country, beloved nation  with the spirit of discipline, stance, and creativity," she said.

On this Saturday, UPNVY conducts graduation ceremony for 41 people  of Master program and 448 people of Bachelor program, and one person of Diploma. (wwj / humas)
