SLEMAN - Pertamina Hulu Indonesia Limited Liability Company invited Yogyakarta UPN "Veteran" (UPNVY) students for internships and employee recruitment. The Managing Director of Pertamina Hulu Indonesia, Bambang Manumayoso stated this while signing the Memorandum of Understanding between Pertamina Hulu Indonesia with UPNVY on Tuesday (28/08/2018) in the Meeting Room on the first floor in the Rectorate Building at the UPN Condong Catur Campus.
"There are many friends from UPN at Pertamina and they are renown for their quality. In addition to academic excellence, the campus should also prepare students for professional leadership at university,” said Bambang, who is a 1988 UPNVY Geology Engineering graduate alumni.
Bambang said that the energy requirements of Indonesia are still dependent on oil and gas. This means that universities that have courses in petroleum will still do well. He suggested that universities should enrich students so that they excel, especially in the field of information technology and professional leadership.
"Lets work together to create national energy security. Until now, the UPN has been famous for its great work ethic and hard workers," he said.
The UPNVY Chancellor, Prof. Sari Bahagiarti conveyed her appreciation to Pertamina Hulu Indonesia Limited Liability Company for its willingness to work in cooperation and assist the UPN.
Sari spoke of the transformation of the UPNVY and its history when it was established as an official university, a private university and then eventually a state university in 2014.
"This change has delevoped the institution to become more mature and prepared to accept challenges. However, just as our commitment was in line with the mandate of the Ministry of Defence at the time of the affirmation process becoming a state institution, we will become a campus that is characterised by defending the national spirit, "Sari said.
Sari continued to explain that this collaboration is expected to be beneficial for both parties and will encourage and support the nation's competitiveness.
The scope of this cooperation covers the fields of education, research, utilisation of human resources and science, and community service. The duration of this collaboration with Pertamina Hulu is two years.
The Cooperation Agreement between the UPNVY Alumni Association and the UPNVY was also signed at the same time on the UPNVY digital application. (wwj/humas)
