Sleman-UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta (UPNVY) held a socialization of the National Selection of State Higher Education Admission (SNMPTN) and Joint Selection of State Universities (SBMPTN) of 2019  at the Rectorate Building, 5th Floor of UPNVY, Thursday (01/17/2019 ). The socialization was attended by 160 participants of 80 schools. The participants were operators and counseling teachers from high schools, vocationalhigh schools, and MA throughout the Special Region of Yogyakarta.

UPN "Veteran" Chancellor of Yogyakarta, Dr. Irhas Effendi, as the speaker said that there were a number of new regulations that were different from the previous year, including the test system that the participants should conduct before applying to PTN.

"The National Selection of State Higher Education Registration (SNMPTN)  is organized by an institution called the Institute for Higher Education Admission Test (LTMPT) and the implementation system is different. If the participants registered first and then took the test in the previous year, the regulations in 2019 is the implementation of the test first, then it is scored. The mark is used to register to the State Universities, "said the Chancellor of UPNVY.

Irhas added that there was only one test method in the implementation of the 2019 SBMPTN, namely the Computer Based Writing Test (UTBK) with two test materials, namely Scholastic Potential Tests and Academic Competence Tests.

"The 2019 entrance admission scheme will still be implemented through three channels, namely the SNMPTN, SBMPTN and Independent Selection, in which SNMPTN minimum capacity of 20%, a minimum SBMPTN of 40% and a Self Selection maximum of 30% of the capacity quota per study program in PTN, "said the Chancellor.

In addition, the participants of the 2019 State University Admission Test can take the UTBK twice, by paying UTBK registration fees of Rp 200,000 on each test. They can use the highest score in registering to the desired study program out of the twice UTBK.

On this occasion, the Chancellor of UPNVY informed about the quota of prospective students who were accepted from the SNMPTN, SBMPTN and UPNVY Independent Selection. UPNVY receives 20% of SNMPTN, 50% of SBMPTN and 30% of Independent Selection. UPNVY provides 21 study programs with a total quota of 3,180 students. Estimated number of UPNVY SNMPTN seats is 636 seats, 1591 seats for SBMPTN and Independent Selection are 953 seats.
