SLEMAN - The struggle for graduation is not easy for Debby Gybson Putri Deri Desya Rampeng. The graduate from the Informatics Engineering Department, Faculty of Industrial Engineering, UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta (UPNVY) was forced to postpone her dreams to graduate last year because of the accident that she experienced.
"My target is to be able to take part in the graduation in October 2018, but because of an accident I had, I postponed it", Debby said, who still used a crutch met at the 2nd Academic Year 2018/2019 Graduation Ceremony, Saturday (12 / 1/2019).
Debby said that he and his family had an accident in July 2018 while traveling from Jakarta to her hometown in Solok, West Sumatra.
Her leg was broken and her temple was torn. Her severe injury made heroperated and it required a long recovery period.
After the surgery, Debby claimed that she could not walk. She had to undergo treatment and needed a crutch to carry out her activities every day.
Lying sick at home for a month made her desperared to finish her final assignment.
"My father forbade me for returning to Jogja and told me to focus on therecovery. I was also advised to take time off, "said Debby
In the midst of her condition which had not recovered yet, she requested a permission to her parents to return to Yogyakarta to finish her final assignment. Seeing Debby's passion and strong will finally the father allowed her to go.
As a result, in October 2018, Debby was able to attend the final trial and was declared a graduate. The woman who was born in Solok, May 29, 1995 also graduated with cum laude, with a 3.57 Grade Point Average.
At the graduation ceremony, she was called on stage because she was one of the winners of Scholarly Works. That is an award given to students who have academic achievements, graduating in a short time, achieving off-campus, and active in organizational and social activities.
Debby revealed that her success at this time was due to the support of her parents, lecturers and friends who helped and encouraged her to face every problem she had. (wwj / PR)
