Sleman- UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta (UPNVY) in collaboration with the Transportation Office of Sleman Regency held a vehicle emission test at the Rectorate, Jl. North Circular SWK, Friday, February 22, 2019.
The Bureau of General and Finance, Wisnu Hadi, M.Sc, said that the emission test aimed to determine the level of emissions issued by vehicles, whether they were feasible or not for the environment.
In addition, the Head of the Transportation Safety of Transportation Department of Sleman Regency, Rosalyna Setya Wardhani, S.Si.T, said that this activity was an annual activity organized by the Department of Transportation. The purpose of this activity was to determine the threshold of motor vehicle exhaust emissions.
"The implementation of this emission test is intended not only for the UPN" Veteran "academic community in Yogyakarta, but also for yellow plate and black plate passenger vehicles," added the Head of the Transportation Safety, Transportation Office of Sleman Regency.
Rosa added today there were 125 vehicles following the emissions test, consisting of gasoline and diesel fuel vehicles. There were 9 of a total of 86 gasoline-fueled vehicles which did not pass the vehicle emission test and there were 77 vehicles which passed the semis test. Meanwhile, of 39 diesel-powered vehicles, there was 1 vehicle which did not pass the vehicle emission test, but there were 38 vehicles which passed the emission test. The main target of the emission test this time is UPNVY official vehicles, at least there are around 30 percent of UPNVY official vehicles participating in the emission test. In addition to knowing the feasibility of emission levels to the environment, this emission test also aims to increase public awareness especially students to support the Green Campus.
