YOGYAKARTA - The importance of maintaining the environment must be cultivated early on, one of which is by increasing children's awareness. For this reason, Communication Science students of UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta (2016 Public Relations concentration of UPNVY held a Start a Movement in Our Life (SMILE) event, at Kenyang Sumringah Park, Kenyang Sumringah, Langenastran Lor Street No. 31 Panembahan (1/5)
The event with the theme of "Save the Nature for the Future" was attended by 50 participants from various kindergarten / RA in the city of Yogyakarta. Aside from being a forum for the Communication Science students to develop the creativity, it was hoped that this event could also increase children's awareness of the environment.
The highlight of SMILE Yogyakarta was guided by Eko Nugroho Art Class where children were taught about recycling by decorating plant pots made from plastic drink bottles. As a non-formal art school, Eko Nugroho Art Class also provides art activities that aim to support the actions of protecting the environment. Eko Nugroho Art Class is on Jl. Central Bintar No. 1, Mergangsan, Yogyakarta.
"The whole program went smoothly, the participants also seemed happy when they saw magic and crafting. We hope this event can grow a sense of concern for the environment," said Danu Alfandi as chairman of the SMILE 2019 program. ***
