BANTUL – The Chancellor of Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Yogyakarta (UPNVY) (UPNVY) visited students taking part in the Community Service Program (KKN) in Sumber Mulyo Village, Bambanglipuro Regency, Bantul, Friday (3/5). This visit also marks the end of the students’KKN batch 68 of the even semester of UPNVY in the 2018/2019 academic year.
There were 138 students joined KKN batch 68 who were divided into 13 groups placed in 13 hamlets. Each group consisted of 13 students across majors.
For about one month at the KKN location, the KKN students conducted various kinds of activities. There was the online based marketing assistance of wedang uwuh, the publishcation of pranoto adicoro books or Javanese language host, the making assistance of organic fertilizers and organic pests to farmers, and so on.
When visiting the KKN participants, UPNVY Chancellor. Dr. M. Irhas Effendi said KKN is expected to provide aspects of social values, economic values ??and academic values ??that can give an implementation the welfare of the community
"Through this KKN activity, the students can practice life in the midst of society. They can also study with the community and implement the knowledge they get when they were on the campus to the community," said Irhas.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Community Service Center for Research and Community Service (LP2M) of UPNVY, Hendri Gusaptono said the response of the community where KKN was located was very good. This can be seen from the community support for the activities program carried out by the students.
"We hope that the program that has been initiated by the students can be continued by the people even though the KKN is over," Hendri said. (wwj / PR)
