Sleman - UPN "Veteran" Chancellor of Yogyakarta reported the development of UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta (UPNVY) when the Commission X of the Republic of Indonesia DPR made a working visit to UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta, Thursday (05/16/2019) at the 1st Floor of the Rectorate Building. The House of Representatives Commission X consisted of 24 members of the Republic of Indonesia Parliament and 5 officials of the DPR RI Secretariat. The group was led by Ferdiansyah, S.E, .M.M. The group was welcomed by the Chancellor of UPNVY, Dr. Irhas Effendi.
In his speech, the Chancellor of UPNVY delivered a report on the development of UPNVY from its inception to becoming a State University. In addition, the Chancellor thanked the House of Representatives Commission X for visiting UPNVY, hoped that this visit could support UPNVY to be more advanced in education.
"Since becoming a State University, registrants for UPNVY new student admissions have increased very sharply. This year, participants who registered UPNVY through the National University Admission (SNMPTN) pathway were 59,000, with an allocation of 636 seats”, added the UPNVY Chancellor.
The Chancellor of UPNVY added that the UPNVY input quality category was able to occupy the top 10 levels of State Universities throughout Indonesia, the UPNVY Social Sciences group got the 8th rank and the UEKVY Saintek group was ranked as the top 10 in Indonesia in the last 3 years. Currently, the UPNVY study program is mostly accredited A. UPNVY also opened 10 new study programs.
Ferdiansyah, S.E., M.M as the head of the group said that the purpose of the working visit to UPNVY was to find out directly the problems of institutional management and accreditation of study programs in State Universities, especially PTN and PTS in DIY Province. In addition, the Indonesian House of Representatives Commission X fully supported Indonesian State Universities, especially the Work Unit of the State Higher Education Institution (PTN - Satker) to improve its accreditation.
The head of the Commission X DPR RI group added that hopefully with this visit, there would be inputs from various universities to improve the quality of higher education in the Yogyakarta region, especially UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta.
The event was attended by the Chancellor of the Yogyakarta National Institute of Technology, Deputy Chancellors of UPNVY, Head of Bureau, Secretary of LPPM and Chair of BEM UPNVY.
At the end of the event, souvenirs were handed over from Commission X to the University Leaders who attended the event.
