SLEMAN - The number of applicants for the Independent Selection of UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta (UPNVY) until the closing day of July 11, 2019 at 16.00 WIB reached 9,460 people.
The UPNVY Chancellor, Mohamad Irhas Effendy said that there were participants of BIdikmisi program of the total 1587 people.
This number is expected to increase until the deadline of the registration payment that is form on July 12, 2019 at 23:59 WIB.
The Chancellor said that the university had had time to renew the registration. Previous registration of the Independent Selection of the Bachelor program is open from May 21 to July 6, 201. The extension took place from July 6 to July 11, 2019.
The extension of this registration is carried out since the participants' tension is very high. In addition, it provides an opportunity for the students who fail to pass the test through the Joint Entrance to Higher Education (SBMPTN).
"Although the registration is extended, the implementation of the examination will still be conducted on July 21, 2019. The test itself is print-based," said Irhas.
If it is compared to last year registration, there is a significant increase this time. The Independent Selection applicants are approximately 8,000 people in 2018.
Different from the previous year, the examination was held in 6 cities. Meanwhile, it will be held in 7 cities in Indonesia this year, namely Yogyakarta, Jakarta, Purwokerto, Bontang, Balikpapan, Pekanbaru and Banjarmasin.
UPNVY prepares a quota of 3,180 students for 21 study programs this year. There are 953 quota prepared of the total amount for the Independent Selection.
Previously, UPNVY had received 636 prospective students from the selection process of SNMPTN and 1,595 from SBMPTN.
