STILL SICK, TWO INDEPENDENT SELSCTION TEST PARTICIPANTS OF UPNVY ENTHUSIASTICALLY TAKE THE EXAM :: dipost pada 21 Juli 2019

SLEMAN - Tessa Ade (19) still looked pale when she attended the UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta Independent Selection test exam (UPNVY) on Sunday (21/7). She had just been hospitalized for one week after being diagnosed by a doctor forhaving typhus and dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF).

"Actually, the doctor did not allow me to go home, but he finally permitted me because I really want to take the exam”, she said weakly.

Having a weak condition, the woman from Sragen in Central Java went 3:00 in the morning by a bus from her house at. Still, she had to wait for almost an hour to get the bus that would take he rto Yogyakarta.

"I had waited a long time to finally reach Jogja at 8 o'clock. So, I was late to take the exam, she said weakly.

Even though she was late, she claimed to be able to do the test well. She also hopes to pass one of her preferred study programs.

"My first choice is Management and the second one is International Relations," said the alumni of Citra Medika Health Vocational School, Sragen.

Taking the exam in a sick condition was also experienced by Febyan Ananda Putri (18). On a wheelchair, she was forced to take an exam in a special room. Febyan suffered an accident a week before the exam.

"My leg was cracked because it hit a bump some time ago", said the woman who chose Geology Engineering as the first choice.

Even though she took the exam was in a sick condition, she admitted that she could do all the questions well. She had prepared herself with regular learning and working on practice questions.

"In my opinion, , the questions are easier than the UTBK questions", she said optimistically.

The Deputy Chancellor for Academic Affairs UPNVY, Dr. Suharsono, explained that there were 9,747 participants took the UPNVY Independent Selection written test to fight for the 953 capacity. Of these, 7,473 participants took the exam in Yogyakarta.

Suharsono said that on this independent selection, his party had prepared 487 rooms, 974 supervisors and 21 location managers throughout Indonesia.

"There were 420 exam roomsin several locations in Yogyakarta, namely UPN campus, UII Condongcatur, Amikom, ITNY, STTN and surrounding campuses", he explained.

Suharsono said that the implementation of the independent exam which ran from 07.30 to 12.00 was running safely and smoothly. He added that the obstacles that arised could be resolved well by the committee in Yogyakarta and in other cities.
