Ryamizard Ryacudu when giving a public lecture in front of thousands of new students of Universitas Pembangunan Nasional (UPN) 'Veteran' Yogyakarta, Tuesday (3/8/2019). According to him, Indonesia is a shared house. As the children of the nation, we certainly would not be willing if there was a group of people who wanted to change Pancasila and make Indonesia a nation without diversity or a country for only one group.

"Indonesia is our home. Therefore, the unity of Indonesia is very important. Why can ants defeat elephants? It is because they have a high ethics of cultural unity. They never talk about themselves. They always unite and work together in solving any problems. Mutual respect for one another and when they unite, they become strong. That is a state defense", he explained.

He revealed that in accordance with the mandate of the Act, the President had given the mandate of managing the policy and developing the national defense architecture to the Minister of Defense. In formulating a national defense strategy, the Ministry of Defense always refers to the development of actual and realistic conditions of the potential current and future state threats.

"We have also formulated and established a policy of administration and national defense whose implementation will involve all components of the nation with the formulation of who is doing what. It includes the formulation of the political policy on the use of TNI forces as the main component supported by other national resources as a reserve component," he said .

The Minister further said that in the current era of modernization and globalization development, we must be aware of threats that are not real or non-physical. The threat was, exemplified by the Minister of Defense, against the mindset of the Indonesian people who sought to change the ideology of Pancasila or popularly known as the modern role of proxy war. "The final estuary of this war is in the materialism which tries to control the natural resources and national economic resources," he said.

Meanwhile, the real and very dangerous threats to the existence and integrity of the nation are terrorism and radicalism. This threat not only causes the material and life losses and creates fear in the community, but it has also torn the unity and brotherhood of the nation. (Awh)
