Sleman - Five Student Creativity Programs (PKM) of UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta (UPNVY) are ready to compete in the 32nd National Student Scientific Week (PIMNAS) which will be held at Udayana Bali on 27-31 August 2019. They are the results of 12 PKM that passed the Monitoring and Evaluation (Monev) held by Kemenristekdikti. To support PKM activities to Pimnas, the UPNVY student division provides assistance to the five PKM teams on Monday - Tuesday, at Griya Persada Hotel Jl. Boyong Pakem Yogyakarta.
The Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Cooperation, Dr. Ir. Singgih Saptono, M.T., said that he appreciated the five UPNVY PKM teams who had successfully passed the final stage at PIMNAS held at Udayana, Bali. Five PKM who passed to PIMNAS are 1 PKMM team (Community Service Student Creativity Program) 1 PKMK team (Entrepreneurship Student Creativity Program) and 3 PKMPE teams (Community Economic Creativity Development Program).
The Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs added that UPNVY sent 140 PKM proposals in 2019. Of these, only 12 proposals passed that received grant funds from the Higher Education program. After going through the selection stages of monitoring and evaluation, there were 5 UPNVY PKM teams that were declared eligible to compete in PIMNAS 2019.
"I hope that PKM of UPNVY that qualifies for PIMNAS will increase next year compared to the current year and hopefully these PKM activities can open the opportunities for the students’ creativity in scientific activities.
The Head of Student Affairs, Drs. Mursito, M.M., said that UPNVY have made various efforts for PIMNAS towards 5 PKM teams. UPNVY provides a soft skills and hard skills training at Griya Persada Hotel, Jl. Bayong Pakem Kaliurang Yogyakarta, on 19-20August 2019 with two speakers from UGM namely Dr. Sumayono, M.Sc and Dr. Med dr. Indwiaini Astuti.
"We are preparing those five PKM teams that qualify for PIMNAS and I hope that they who are qualified for PIMNAS can get maximum results," added Mursito.
