SLEMAN – An improvement of academic quality within UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta (UPNVY) keep up continuely, one of which is by improving the accreditation status of study programs in all majors, including postgraduate programs. Recently, the  Masters program in Communication Studies of UPNVY has succeeded in obtaining accreditation B, with a score of 315.

The achievement of the B accreditation is mentioned in the accreditation certificate from the National Accreditation Board of Higher Education based on BAN-PT Decree Number 3114 / SK / BAN-PT / Akred / M / VIII / 2019. This certificate is valid for 5 years, from 20 August 2019 until 20 August 2024.

Previously, the visitation was conducted on 14-15 August 2019 by the Assessor team, Prof. Dr. Hafied Cangara, M.Sc from Hasanudin University and Dr. Mite Setiansah, M.Sc from General Sudirman University.

"The grade of this accreditation is an indicator of assessment conducted by BAN PT related to the quality of learning, facilities and infrastructure as well as the Higher Education Tri Dharma process that has been carried out by the Master of Communication Studies", said Basuki Agus Suparno, M.Sc, Thursday (8/22).

This achievement, said Basuki, is a pride for study programs, faculties and universities. The reason is as a study program that was established two years ago, the Master of Communication Studies has proven that its quality is in line with other study programs that have been established previously.

The grade of this accreditation, continued Basuki, has been expected by the students and is expected to encourage the civitas to be more active in improving the quality.
