DENPASAR - TheRitech Expo 2019 is officially held at Puputan Square, Renon, Denpasar, Bali on Sunday (25/8). The annual event, which is a display of research and innovation results from the work of the nation's children, is directly presented by the Minister of Research, Technology and Higher Education (Menristekdikti) Mohamad Nasir accompanied by Deputy Governor of Bali Tjokorda Oka Artha Ardana Sukawati, Secretary General of the Ministry of Research and Technology Ainun Na'im and the General Director of Jumain Appe Innovation Strengthening.
In his direction, Menristekdikti explained that this was the third Ritech Expo held outside Java after Makassar, South Sulawesi and Pekanbaru, Riau.
Menristekdikti hopes that the Ritech Expo in Bali can stimulate the emergence of innovations in the region.
"I see the response of the region is extraordinary. Earlier, I saw innovations from Papua, innovations from Bali, and other innovations from the regions. It seems that innovation in the regions is starting to get excited ", explained Mohamad Nasir.
Ritech Expo 2019 will be held for four days from Sunday, August 25 to Wednesday, August 28, 2019. During the Ritech Expo, the community can take part in all events for free and will be offered interesting innovation products from universities, Non-Ministry Government Institutions (LPNK) under the coordination of Kemristekdikti, Main Unit of Kemenristekdikti, Research and Development Agency (Balitbang) of Ministries or State Institutions (K / L), Regional Balitbang, SOEs, Industry, Science and Technology Center (PUI) community and association, and foreign partners.
In addition, this year's Ritech Expo also holds seminars, product innovation demonstrations, science demonstrations, business meetings, open theaters that present live music as well as film screenings and contests with attractive prizes.
On this occasion, UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta (UPNVY) also exhibites the work of students namely Geobuild.
"Geobuild is a building construction projection application with a geological disaster paramerter," said Syaiful Adala, a Informatics Department student (2016), one of the originators of Geobuild.
UPNVY's participation in the Ritech Expo is the second time after previously participating in 2018 which took place in Pekanbaru. (wwj / PR)
