That morning, August 10, 1995 was an important moment in the Indonesian aerospace world. The inaugural aircraft made by the country's youth, N-250 Gatot Kaca, flew for the first time.

The Minister of Research and Technology BJ Habibie looked busy. He hosted the historic event.

The tense atmosphere felt when the aircraft engine started up. The plane’s rumbling sounded. The plane drove slowly, turned direction, and then began to run on the runway. N-250 finally flew over the sky of Bandung.

Everyone presented there seemed tense. Yet, it turned into applause, not only a few people cried deeply of happiness.

The N-250 flew for the first time for about 55 minutes. This news was broadcasted almost all over the world. The Gatot Kaca flew dashingly across the horizon.

The history records that BJ Habibie realized his dream of bringing Indonesia to the level of the world eyes.
