SLEMAN - Geophysics Engineering Study Program of UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta (UPNVY) held a BAN-PT accreditation visitation which was assessed by Dr. Eng. Ir. Muhammad Ramli, MT (Hasanuddin University) and Dr. Agus Muhammad Hatta, S, M.Sc, Ph.D (Institute of Technology Sepuluh November), in the Meeting Room of the FTM Building, Tuesday (10/08th/2019).

The presence of the BAN PT Assessor Team was welcomed by the UPNVY Chancellor, Mohamad Irhas Effendi, the vice-chancellor, the Dean of the Faculty of Mineral Technology (FTM), the heads of study programs and departments at FTM, and the lecturers of Geophysical Engineering Study Program.

The Chancellor gave a speech expressing his hope that the Geophysical Engineering Study Program visitation would get the maximum results.

"For several days, the team from Geophysics has prepared an accreditation forms report. Let us together strive and pray that the visitation can proceed smoothly”, he hopes.

This visitation, said the Chancellor, was as an audit and quality assurance of the quality of a study program. All documents that have been prepared would be confirmed again during a field visit.

Geophysical Engineering Study Program is one of the majors under the Faculty of Mineral Technology which was established under the permission of the General Director of Higher Education No 479 / D / T / 2003 dated March 13, 2003. Its next extension of the department was on February 20, 2013 based on the permission of the General Director of Higher Education No 14678 / D / T / KV / 2013 to get formal legal requirements from BAN PT.

This study program applied the accreditation from BAN PT in 2009. Based on the decision of BAN PT No: 483 / SK / BAN-PT / Akred / S / XII / 2014 regarding to the status, rank, and results of accreditation, the Department of Geophysics Engineering received a B rating.  (Wwj / public relations)
