RADAR JOGJA - The largest company of mining planning and application software in the world from Australia, Micromine, and the Mining Alumni Association (Ikata) of Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Yogyakarta (UPNVY) held a welcoming ceremony for the winner of the Micromine Competition and Hospitality Micromine Club Jogja 2019, at Kopi Gajah , Sleman, Thursday (10/10).
The Micromine Competition 2019 is still a series with the Youth Mining Camp Competition (YMCC) 2019 organized by the Mining Student Association of UPNVY. The two teams of the Micromine Competition 2019 won first place were Salma Difa Masti and Mradipta Lintang from the Geology Study Program of UGM, and Joshua Panangian Samosir and Muhammad Sandi Yudha from the Mining Engineering Study Program of UPNVY. The winners had the opportunity to attend a visit to the AusIMM Conference in Perth - Australia in early October.
The Micromine Regional Manager, Sahrul Hidayat said, the Micromine Competition aimed to measure the understanding and application of the Academic License Scheme program of all universities that receive Micromine licenses. "The hope is to produce the similarity of knowledge about Micromine software in the Mining and Geological Engineering Study Program in all Universities in Indonesia”.
One of the participants was the Deputy for Student Affairs and Cooperation of the Faculty of Mineral Technology of UPNVY, Dr. Ir Joko Soesilo MT. He revealed that the key to success for being able to work in the industry was soft skills. It is the first rank in applying to a company and the purpose of the Micromine Competition is to strengthen soft skills. "Meanwhile, the achievement index was in the 17th rank," said Dr. Joko.
Also, there were representatives from Ikata, General Secretary of Ikata Aditantra Adiyoso who is usually called Danda. During the time, Ikata has been consistent in preparing the best computer laboratory named MICROMINE Laboratory.
