Sleman_Faculty of Agriculture UPN "Veterans" Yogyakarta held the 4th Green Agro-Industrial International Conference with the theme of "Agro - Sustainable Industry In the Industrial Revolution Era 4.0". At the opening of the conference, a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) was signed between UPN "Veterans" Yogyakarta and Sultan Kudarat State University, the Philippines. In this International Conference, the Faculty of Agriculture of UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta presented four speakers from four institutions, namely Eszterhazy Karoly University, Hungary, Tarlac Agricultural University, the Philippines, KOICA, Korea and UPN "Veterans" Yogyakarta. The event was held in Inna Garuda Hotel, Tuesday / 22/10/10 2019.
In his remarks, the Chancellor of UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta, Dr. Ir. Irhas Effendi, MS said that the agriculture has challenges to accelerate the fulfillment of people's food needs. The speed, accuracy of quantity, quality match can be fulfilled when all data on agriculture, from crop management, post-harvest, food processing technology, to economic, social and business can be well integrated. The proper cultivation systems increase the effectiveness of the agricultural process and reduce the cost of agricultural products. Thereby it increases the people's purchasing power. This is in line with the green agro-industry which emphasizes the effectiveness of the process and full absorption of agricultural products so that there is no loss of agricultural material and the environment is maintained.
The Chancellor added that the industrial revolution 4.0 offers ease and transparency of data through the integration of the systems that can be connected to the internet network. All activities can be recorded, tracked, managed for 24 hours and can even be monitored remotely. For the industry, this is very profitable because it is more efficient, productive, and reduces losses. For agriculture, this is a big step in technological progress that should not be wasted. The availability of this technology is welcomed with enthusiasm to meet the needs of the community through the Sustainable Green Agro Industry in the Industrial Revolution Era 4.0.

Dr. Tuti Setyaningrum as the head of the committee said that this event was a permanent agenda of the Faculty of Agriculture which was held every 2 years. The first objective of this activity is to accelerate and support the development of highly productive methods and technologies in various segments of the agricultural industry. Second, it provides a forum for presentations, discussions and emerging technologies in the field of agriculture-based industries as well as various issues related to the sustainable agriculture industry. Third, it encourages the interaction and communication between researchers, observers, and practitioners to discuss and find solutions to the problems related to the development of the agricultural industry in order to improve the welfare.
