UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta Held a Seminar on Indonesia-Russia Cooperation :: dipost pada 06 November 2019

Ahead of the anniversary of relations between Indonesia and Russia, Universitas Pembangunan Nasional "Veteran" Yogyakarta (UPNVY) held a seminar entitled 70 Years of Indonesia-Russia Relations: History and Challenges. This occasion was attended by the ambassadors from Russia who were presenters of the event. This activity was held at Campus II of UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta on Wednesday (6/11).

This event was organized by the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, International Relations Study Program UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta. The students were even enthusiastic about participating in the activity this time. In addition to having the opportunity to get material directly from the Russian ambassador, they could also deepen the material about the country.

Machya Astuti, the Dean of the Social and Political Sciences Department, Faculty of International Relations UPN "Veterans" Yogyakarta said that this activity was held approaching  the 70th  anniversary of the collaboration between Indonesia and Russia. He hoped that this activity could revive how history unites the two countries through cooperation.

"This is approaching the 70th  anniversary of Indonesia and Russia. Hopefully, through this material, the students can learn about its history", Astuti said.

Regarding the longstanding relations between Indonesia and Russia, there have been so many developments taking place. In fact, the cooperation includes many things including the cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, technology and many other things.

"It  will discuss various matters related to relations in the fields of politics, economics, trade, technology, military and many more things today", said the Deputy Chancellor for Student Affairs, Singgih Saptono.

According to him, this momentum is very good for students to use to engage in discussions and also actively explore information. In addition, according to him, the event this time to have  further foster relations between the university and the Russian side.

"We want to foster closer. We already have a close relationship with the Czech Republic, Hungary, but  we don’t have it with Russia so we will conduct student exchange then lecturer exchanges. After this, we will probably improve it more. Hopefully, there will be developments", he added. (Birgita / adv)
