SLEMAN - The Choir Team of UPN “Veteran” Yogyakarta (UPNVY), "Vocalista Paradisso", won the "5th Karangturi International Choir Competition (KICC) 2019" at the Karangturi National School, Semarang, Central Java. The event which was attended by 58 participants from various backgrounds, from children to adults, lasted for four days, 13-16 November 2019. Some of the participants were Telkom University Choir, Voca Edurita UNS, PSM UGM, Gratia Choir UNIKA, Dipenogoro University Choir, PSMITS, Sapta Gita Jaya PSM Semarang University, and many more.

In this competition, Vocalista Paradisso Vocalista Paradisso joined three categories, namely Musica Sacra Category (conductor Nevily Lahagu (21)), Mixed Category (conductor Edwina Ayu Christy (20)), Folklore Category (conductor Nevily Lahagu (21)). As a result, the proud PSM team from UPNVY won the Gold Medal in the Folklore Category, the Gold Medal in the Musica Sacra Category, and the Silver Medal in the Mixed Category.

"We are grateful that our hard work has produced satisfying results. Moreover, KICC 2019 is considered to be a tight competition in Indonesia", said Gita Natasha Simamora, as Vocalista Paradisso's Public Relations.

“Besides that, Vocalista Paradisso dared to take on new challenges by joining the Musica Sacra category in this competition”, said Gita.

This success is the result of the hard work of all team members.

"All team members trained intensively from July to prepare for the competition. All were serious and committed to perform optimally”, she said.
