Sleman - UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta hosts the National Championship X of Pencak Silat (martial arts) between universities. It is fighting over the trophy of the President of the Republic of Indonesia. This activity will be held Monday, 10 February to 16 February 2020 at the UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta Auditorium Building.

Markus Kusnardijanto, S.Sos as the Head of Cooperation and Public Relations said that UPN "Veterans" of Yogyakarta were chosen to host the martial arts headship between Indonesian universities this year. This activity is organized by the Merpati Putih and Perisai Diri Student Activity Unit (UKM) of UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta.

"According to the plan,  UPN" Veterans "Yogyakarta will reduce pesilat (athletes) to 13 athletes. I hope that the UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta fighters can show the best results in this championship.

Markus added that as many as 350 athletes from 51 State Universities in Indonesia will compete in the National Championship X of Pencak Silat. The activity will be held for 6 days, February 10-16, 2020 at the UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta Auditorium Building. the National Championship of Pencak Silat is a routine agenda which is held every two years by the Indonesian Pencak Silat Student Communication Forum.

On the same occasion the organizing committee of the National Championship of Pencak Silat UPN “Veteran” Yogyakarta stated that this championship activity could hopefully contribute in which this Pencak Silat sport  could truly rebrand the spirit of patriotism, nationalism and morality.

"We hope that more tertiary institutions throughout the country will join this event as a part of the efforts to develop the martial arts. This championship theme carried is "Growing a Sense of Nationalism and Preserving a National Cultural Diversity through Pencak Silat", added the committee.
