SLEMAN - Ramadhan is a special month for Muslims around the world because all good deeds are multiplied by Allah SWT in this month. The atmosphere of Ramadan this year is different compared to the previous year or during the Ramadan journey that Muslims go through. Muslims have to go through all activities with limited conditions due to the co-19 pandemic situation this year.
For this reason, we should not be negligent in this situation in having our obligations as human beings and citizens. It was conveyed by the Chancellor of UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta, Mohamad Irhas Effendi in his speech before Ramadan through social media, Thursday (23/4).
On that occasion, the Chancellor invited the academics and staffs of UPN "Veterans" Yogyakarta to conduct worship at home. According to him, this step is part of an effort as a human being and also as a citizen in an effort to break the chain of the spread of the covid-19 virus.
"Let's pray for ourselves, family, community and national good", he said.
At present, the Chancellor said that we are being tested with abstract enemies, not visible but having an impact. It is time for the Indonesian people to prove themselves again by strengthening solidarity and helping each other in their abilities.
The Chancellor said UPNVY through its Disaster Management Study Center had formed a co-19 prevention task force team. The team carries out an online learning support program, support for basic needs, support for increasing the capacity of the health service unit, and support for increasing village resilience - the partner in dealing with covid-19. The team also provides supports in the form of assistance to students in need.
Also, the Student Executive Board, Student Association and Student Organizations join hands in organizing solidarity actions in supporting for medical workers, the community and so forth.
For this reason, he invited similar solidarity to be grown in the neighborhood of UPNVY academics and employees.
"Help your family, neighbors and friends in need. Make this way to achieve the quality of individual and social transformation to increase the degree of our piety in the eyes of Allah SWT", said the message.
He also advised UPNVY academics and employees to undergo Ramadan with optimism and joy.
"Make this pandemic be a part of the test from Allah SWT to his human beings to get back to Him. Get closer to God by multiplying worship and praying. Be assured with all our efforts, God will answer our prayers", said the message. (wwj / PR)
