Sleman - Universitas Pembangunan Nasional ‘Veteran’ Yogyakarta (UPNVY) took part in the Arubalympics 2020 competition by sending two lecturers and four undergraduate students of Informatics Engineering. The team from Universitas Pembangunan Nasional ‘Veteran’ Yogyakarta successfully won five (5) gold medals, five (5) silver medals, and one (1) bronze medal. Based on this medal achievement, Universitas Pembangunan Nasional ‘Veteran’ Yogyakarta was ranked 5th out of 102 universities participating in the event. The team that succeeded in making the alma mater be proud in the national arena consisted of Dr. Awang Hendrianto Pratomo, S.T., M.T., Andiko Putro Suryotomo, S.Kom., M.Cs., Jundi Hafizhul Haqqi, Teuku Muhammad Ammar, Muhammad Abdul Ghani, and Muhammad Rizqi.
Dr. Awang Hendrianto Pratomo, S.T, M.T as one of the representatives of UPN “Veteran” Yogyakarta said that Arubalympics was a competition organized by Aruba, Aptikom, and Ekoji Academy in the field of Intelligent Network based on e-learning and e-competition. The theme of this activity was "The Intelligence Campus Network 4.0". The event was held from 3 August 2020 to 17 August 2020. At its peak, there was the Webinar Graduation Day event.
Muhammad Rizqi as an undergraduate student of Informatics Engineering, a team member of Universitas Pembangunan Nasional ‘Veteran’ Yogyakarta, said that this competition followed lessons on the Aruba website, then answered the questions given, for the fastest participants from all provinces would get medals. Through this competition, there was experience in designing strategies. We devised a strategy so that a team from Universitas Pembangunan Nasional ‘Veteran’ Yogyakarta win most medals. In addition, we from all campuses in Yogyakarta also worked together to get the most medals to beat other provinces.
