Universitas Pembangunan Nasional "Veteran" Yogyakarta (UPNVY) proposed the accreditation of its new study program (prodi) that was Information Systems Study Program, Department of Informatics, Faculty of Industrial Engineering (FTI). The accreditation was carried out to further ensurement of the study program feasibility level and increasement of the competence of Information Systems graduates. This time, the field assessments were conducted online by the assessors. In this case, the visitation of the FTI UPNVY Information System Study Program was carried out online by the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT) on Friday (25/9) and Saturday (26/9).

The Head of the Centre for External Quality Assurance (PME) UPNVY Learning Development and Quality Assurance (LP3M) Dr Puji Lestari MSi said that “the accreditation is an indicator of the success of the learning process from the inputs, processes, outputs and outcomes and its impact on improving people's welfare. LP3M always accompanies all study programs that apply for accreditation, "explained Puji.

Puji Lestari said that the assistance was carried out from the beginning of filling forms, uploading the forms to the Online Higher Education Accreditation System (SAPTO), to monitoring until the accreditation result letter was issued. "I monitor it, whether the submitted forms have been assessed, they are ready to be visited," said Puji when she was with other LP3M team, the Head of UPNVY LP3M Learning System Development Center, Oliver Samuel Simanjuntak ST MEng.

Then, there was a field assessment to confirm the existence of all the evidence. "So, the assessor has carried out an adequate assessment of the forms that have been submitted in the system," explained Puji who is also a BAN-PT assessor.

Meanwhile, the Head of Study Program of Information System FTI UPNVY, Dr Herlina Jayadianti MT revealed that her party has prepared everything related to the accreditation maximally, namely, for the best results for the Information System Study Program of UPNVY. "We submitted it last January but because of the pandemic, the field assessment can only be done online now," said Lina.

It was explained that her party had done their best. "Of course everyone wants the best, but even if it doesn't reach that grade, it means that the team will continue to make improvements," said Lina.

Herlina said that for her and the team when the desired accreditation result was achieved, it meant that something was obtained. However, when it fails, there are still things or knowledge to be learned. "So whether it fails or is successful, there is still a learning process there. We have finished it, we have reported what it is. We are just waiting for the results," said Lina.

Herlina said that her party still refers to the seven standard forms of accreditation. They are standard 1: vision, mission, goals and objectives, as well as achievement strategies; standard 2: guidance, leadership, management systems and quality assurance; standard 3: student and graduate affairs; standard 4: human resources; standard 5: curriculum learning, and an academic atmosphere; standard 6: financing, infrastructure, facilities and information systems; and standard 7: research, service / community service and cooperation.

Founder and the first Head of Study Program of Information System FTI UPNVY(2017-2020), Herry Sofyan ST MKom said that UPNVY Information System Study Program was established in 2017. "This is the fourth year. When being established, the accreditation degree is automatically C. We accredit this to raise the grade. Hopefully, this can change for the better," continued Herry.

Herry Sofyan revealed that the capacity in the first year was 40 students. "Then, we increased it to 80. In the future, we will increase it to 120, but we also need to see the adequacy ratio of lecturers," said Herry.

To achieve better accreditation degree, his party has tried to fulfill every item on the form. For example, the quality of human resources of students, lecturers, and staff, the learning process, facilities and infrastructure, and so on. "I am very optimistic because we have tried and tried to follow what is available. We have also presented the data as much as possible and from the results of the discussion, we hope they can increase the ranking," said Herry.

On the same occasion, the Dean of the Faculty of Industrial Engineering (FTI) UPNVY, Ir. Mahreni MT PhD said that UPNVY Information Systems Study Program is a new study program that has not graduated students. "Also, this is the first accreditation to be carried out. We hope that the results of the accreditation will increase from the minimum accreditation given when submitting a new study program. Hopefully, it will be even better in the future and contribute to Indonesia with the competence of graduates possessed by undergraduate in Information Systems FTI UPNVY," hoped Reni.

Mahreni said that there were a number of things that must be improved, namely the need to focus more on scientific information systems. Thus, it can distinguish the different competencies between Information Systems and Information Engineering. "Apart from that, we must also continue to improve the abilities and expertise of the teaching staff, students, and so on," said Reni.

BAN-PT assessor from the University of North Sumatra (USU) Prof. Dr. Muhammad Zarlis MSc revealed that the Information System Study Program of UPNVY is overall good. "Actually, this study program is already good, but there needs to be some improvement. One of them is to continue focusing on the vision and mission. Namely, it should lead to the development of information systems science," said Zarlis.

He hopes that this assessment can have a good impact on the Information Systems Study Program in accordance with the expectations of BAN-PT, namely for improving the quality of study programs, faculties, and institutions.

The same thing was said by the BAN-PT assessor from the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) Dr. Ir. Gusti Ayu Putri Saptawati S. MComm.
