SLEMAN – The development of time, technological progress, and the rapid flow of globalization has implications to the development of modern warfare in the form of Asymetric Warfare and Proxy War as well as other non-military threats such as corruption, drugs, radicalism and terrorism. All components must face those threats, such as the role of Universities in the form of smartpower.

The existence of higher education institutions in Indonesia is expected to be a Candradimuka Crater for intellectual candidates, qualified successors and leaders of the nation who are able to become an antidote to all forms of threat. The importance of increasing understanding of homeland love, defense and escort to NKRI and National Development by educated society, make a state defense be a value ??that need to be implanted and developed in every Indonesian university.

Therefore, the National Veterans' Development University of Yogyakarta (UPNVY) initiated a Synergy Program of the Indonesian State Defense Campus (SKBNI) 2017 and invited all universities in Indonesia to commit in implementing the values ??of state defense. State defense campus rating will be implemented nationally as one of the benchmarks of the implementation of state defend in the academic environment.

"This program sought the most country defend campus in Indonesia. This is seen from the various implementations of the universities. The development of state defense character carries out various aspects, such as tridharma college," he explained in Press Conference held UPNVY, Friday (22/09/2017).

In the program, the jury would conduct and judge independently based on the indicators of value, especially related to tri dharma college. Other indicators in the assessment are related to the love of the country, the loving of Pancasila and so on. The jury would involve various parties, such as community leaders, from other universities as well as from the Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education to journalists.

Head of State Defense Division UPNVY, Bambang Wicaksono added that the participants who were expected to participate in the assessment were all institutions of higher education such as universities, institutes, high schools, polytechnics, academy and vocations. Colleges registered through the website http://belanegara.upnyk.ac.id/. The results of the rating would be submitted to the Ministry of Defense as reference and reference for other universities.

Chairman of Jury SKBNI 2017, Prof. Danisworo said that the jury would visit and check the campus which were nominated to be in accordance with the practice in the field.
