SLEMAN - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) is scheduled to attend an open session of UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta (UPNVY) in the framework of the 59th Anniversary. This trial will take place at WR Auditorium. Supratman, UPNVY Condongcatur Campus, Sleman on December 15, 2017.

According to the plan of President Jokowi will also deliver his scientific oration  to the academic community at UPNVY.

Rector UPNVY, Prof. Dr. Ir. Sari Bahagiarti K, M.Sc said UPNVY campus has a long history in the struggle for Indonesian independence because it was founded by veteran freedom fighters.

"Even though we have become State Universities, we still have the mandate to remain a university characterized by defending the State," said Rector, Friday (23/11/2017).

In the 59th Anniversary, UPNVY will be holding the theme 'Kampus Bela Negara Penegak Empat Pilar Kebangsaan'. The choice of this theme according to Professor of Faculty of Mineral Technology is because state defense is the actualization of Pancasila, UU 1945 and NKRI. State defense  is the need of all citizens remembering the state defend is a media  to foster a sense of citizens’ homeland love to the nation and country.

"Having activities in 59th Dies Natalies, we want that the existence of institutions of higher education in Indonesia is expected to be a place to forge intellectual candidates, future generations and leaders of a quality nation and become an antidote to all forms of threat,"

According to him, UPNVY has been prosecuted to be a campus that implements the values ??of defending the State.

In addition to the open senate sessions, various events were organized in order to enliven the 59th UPNVY Anniversary,  such as national seminars and workshops, national deliberations of mineral engineering experts, students' entrepreneurial week, healthy walks and various other activities.
