SLEMAN - The management of periodicals of scientific journals is not an easy task. the managers of periodical scientific journal publications have two common problems encountered. That is, the available manuscripts are incompatible with the focus and scope, as well as the management of periodical scientific publications that do not continue. This was conveyed by Eko Didik Widianto, ST, MT from the Computer System Study Program of Diponegoro University, Semarang in Training of Online Journal Management with Open Journal System (OJS) on Friday (8/12) at 5th Floor of UPN Rectorate Building "Veteran" Yogyakarta (UPNVY) Condongcatur Campus.

"There are still many journals that will accept articles that do not fit the focus and scope just because they have to meet the publishing schedule," said Eko in the training organized by the Faculty of Industrial Engineering UPNVY.

Lecturer of Prodi Computer Systems said the format of the article included the form, the size of the writing, width of the writing area, the distance between the sentences, and the selection of fonts and alignment of the edge.

"the number of pages per volume is at least 100 pages. The volumes and issue numbers should be sequential, should not jump between publications and use Arabic numerals. One volume may be exhausted in a year or more than a year. However, ideally the volume runs out in a year, replace the year volume change, "he said.

One journal volume must contain at least two issue numbers and the page number in one volume must be exhausted. Then, the page should start from page one again.

Meanwhile, on the same occasion the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs Faculty of Industrial Engineering UPNVY, Hafsah, S.Si., M.T. conveyed that the online journal management training activities with OJS were intended to increase the number of journals in UPNVY, accredited nationally or indexed on National Journal Accreditation (ARJUNA) managed by Kemristekdikti.

"ARJUNA is made as an objective means or system to measure whether a scientific periodical publication meets the minimum quality requirement to be recognized by the national accreditation and subsequently can be followed up by indexing to internationally reputable indexers. Hopefully journals in FTI and UPN can get to ARJUNA, "he explained. (BMW-fti)
