SLEMAN - Publishing scientific articles is an integral part of a research. In the career aspect, scientific journals are a very valuable component, determining the rate or stagnancy of a lecturer's career. Scientific journals are a form of registration of a person's intellectual activity and certification of the results of an intellectual activity that meets the minimum scientific requirements. This was conveyed by Professor of Chemistry MIPA Study Program of Gadjah Mada University Yogyakarta, Prof. Karna Wijaya in Workshop of International Journal Publication from Research Result and Community Service held by Faculty of Industrial Engineering at Seminar Room of Faculty of Industrial Engineering, Tuesday (12/12).

Karna said the function of scientific journals was as well as dissemination of the extravagant works to the general public, and archiving of all the findings of the scholarly and science activities that it contained.

Stages of writing process in international scientific journals include the selection of scientific journals, instruction for authors, searching for one example of published articles, article writing according to instructions, submission of manuscripts, return of manuscript by Editor in Chief, manuscript repair, submission of repaired manuscripts, examination galley proof, administrative completion, and ordering reprints.

Associated to the tips and tricks in writing a journal, he said, the article material was associated to the ongoing research and refers to the road map and passion.

In addition, the MIPA Chemist Lecturer continues, once was ready to write that must be done immediately, if the article should be written in a foreign language, consult to a colleague or a competent language institution, select a journal with not too high impact and scopus or accredited national indexed.

"In the code of ethics of writing, researchers manage, implement, and report the results of scientific research in a responsibility, care, and thoroughness", he explained.

In the code of ethics writing the researcher disseminates written information from the results of his research. This information is granted to the world of science first duplication. In addition, the researchers provide a recognition through inclusion as a companion writer, citation statements, and in the form of sincere thanks to the researcher who made a significant contribution in the research.

On the same occasion, the Vice Dean for Student Affairs, Planning and Cooperation Faculty of Industrial Engineering UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta (UPNVY), Dr. Ir. Mahreni, M.T. delivered an International Journal Publication Workshop of Research Result and Community Service intended to increase the number of journals from the results of research and dedication to the community of lecturers at UPNVY that can get to the  publication of international journals.
