SLEMAN - The provision of expertise and skills for students who will enter the workforce is becoming increasingly important. After graduating, the college students must be prepared to face the competition between job seekers who currently not only come from within the country, but also from outside.

This is the responsibility of UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta (UPNVY) in preparing its graduates to be able to compete in the world of work. For that reason, the Faculty of Industrial Engineering UPNVY held a career seminar held in the Seminar Room Agus Salim Building Campus II Tambakbayan, Wednesday (10/1).

This seminar featured Nediyansyah, S.T from Supply Chain & Manufacturing PT. Sport Glove Indonesia and Ashari, Director of PT. Hari Mukti Teknik Bantul.

"If we have entered the world of work, we must think of the future, do not think that has already exists at this time" said Nediyansyah who is an alumnus of Industrial Engineering Department Faculty of Industrial Engineering UPNVY in front of the participants of the seminar.

According to the man born in Palembang, January 11, 1979, we must always learn to improve skills and expertise in the world of work. If we still think about the present today, we do not want to learn and improve skills or expertise, we will be left behind.

In addition, continued Nediayansyah, we must have a target after entering the world of work. With the target, the career will be in line with the success achievements.

Meanwhile, Ashari in his briefing said, we must have a dream to succeed after graduating college.

He himself told the beginning of building PT. Hari Mukti Teknik was begun with desire or dream. In the end of 2008 he could stand construction services and engineering services company that he aspires.

With the support of employees, added Ashari, he is determined to advance his business to be able to compete in national and international markets.

Meanwhile, the Dean of Industrial Engineering Faculty in his speech delivered by Vice Dean for Student Affairs, Planning, and Cooperation of Faculty of Industrial Engineering Dr. Ir. Mahreni, M.T. said that alumni were expected to face the challenges of the world of work. With provisions obtained in college, the students were expected to contribute to society, nation and state and alma mater.

Furthermore, Mahreni delivered that the graduation was not an end but it was the beginning of the struggle to pursue a career and conquer a bigger challenge.

Mahreni advised that graduates could carry out the mandate of being a development pioneer who has the spirit of defending the country and love the homeland as taught by the campus so far. (BMW-fti)
