Merdeka.com - 5.165 Seats for the new students are provided by five state universities (PTN) in Yogyakarta through the National Selection of State University Entrance (SNMPTN).

The five state universities are University of Gadjah Mada (UGM), ), Universitas Pembangunan Nasional (UPN) Veteran Yogyakarta, Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, and Institut Seni Indonesia (ISI) Yogyakarta.

The 1st Vice Rector of UNY, Margana conveyed the new admissions by PTN in accordance with UU No. 12 of 2012. There are three new admissions paths, one of them is SNMPTN. The quotas of new students for SNMPTN  is 30 percent of the total quota of the new students who will be accepted.

"According to the Regulation of the Minister of Research, Technology and Higher Education (Kemenristek-PT) SNMPTN is a selection process based on the student achievement tracking and academic portfolio sourced from School and Student Database (PDSS)," Margana said at Auditorium UNY, Tuesday (16 / 1).

Margana explained that SNMPTN registration will start on February 21-March 6, 2018. Meanwhile, the result will be announced on April 17, 2018.

"UNY will receive as many as 4,690 new students, with 1,647 through SNMPT," said Margana.

Vice Rector I of ISI Yogyakarta, Wayan Dasna said that in 2018 it will receive 1,222 new students. Especially for SNMPTN, ISI Yogyakarta will receive 166 new students.

"The acceptance of new students in ISI reaches 1,222 people. Among 20 programs,  there are only 11 programs participate in SNMPTN with the quota of 166 people," said Wayan.

Vice Rector I of UPN Veteran Yogyakarta, Mohammad Irhas Efendi described that this year UPN Veteran Yogyakarta will accept 2,770 new students. Through SNMPTN, it will receive 831 new students for 21 programs.

"The enthusiasm of the applicant tends to be high ie Petroleum Engineering study program, Geology and Mining, then Communication program is also high," said Irhas.

UGM Academic Director, Sri Peni Wastutiningsih explained, this year UGM will receive 7,099 new students. A total of 2,130 people will be accepted through SNMPTN in 56 undergraduate programs and 11 D3 courses. UIN Sunan Kalijaga will receive 3493 new students in 2018. Of the total new students, 391 people will be selected through SNMPTN.
