SLEMAN - Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Yogyakarta (UPNVY) participated again in the National Selection of State University Entrance (SNMPTN) in the process of New Student Admission (PMB) for the academic year of  2018/2019. The contested seats in SNMPTN are 30 percent of the capacity of 2,770 students.

"This year's quota of 2770, with details for SNMPTN as much as 831, SBMPTN 1108, and Seleksi Mandiri 831," explained Vice Rector for Academic of UPNVY, Dr. Irhas Efendi in his presentation at the Socialization of SNMPTN and SBMPTN in 2018, at the Center of Primary and Secondary Education, Gunung Kidul, Wednesday (24/01/2017).

Irhas said, in addition to SNMPTN there are two other lines that can be selected by the prospective students to enter UPNVY namely Seleksi Bersama Masuk Perguruan Tinggi Negeri (SBMPTN) and Seleksi Mandiri (SM). The distribution of quotas for both lines are 40 percent and 30 percent.

  "The quota division is more or less like that, but we are still waiting for approval from the Center to be ratified," explained Irhas in front of about 90 high school counselors BK participants.

Irhas said the interest of registrants in UPNVY for these three channels continues to increase every year. Recorded in 2015 as many as 37,000 registrants, in 2016 as many as 46,000 registrants and in 2017 as many as 51,000 applicants. Of that number, the amount of who were being received and passed the selection was about 3 percent.

"Every year the interest is increasing and the value is getting better, but our quota also increases. We open a new study program  this year, so there are a total of 21 study programs, "he said.

On the occasion, Irhas advised that the school can cooperate well related to the filling of Student Database and School (PDSS). Because if the data tis not true then students and schools will be given sanctions.

Irhas delivered this year Bidikmisi participants are provided about 20 percent of the total number of the selection seats.

For information, PDSS filling and verification has started on January 13, 2018, SNMPTN 2018 registration will start on 21 February - 6 March 2018 and will be announced on April 17, 2018.

While SBMPTN registration will begin on 5-27 April 2018, written test on May 8, 2018 and announcement on July 3, 2018. (wwj / humas)
