Kalimasa Student Regiment Unit has once again another Military Pre-Basic Education (Pradiksarmil), which now reaching its 40th generation of Yudha. This program lasted for 5 days, from 9th to February 13th, 2017 within the area of UPN “Veteran” Yogyakarta and the District of Prambanan, Regency of Sleman. The Kalimasada Student Regiment Unit (Satmenwa) this time sent 22 new students collected from all the faculties of UNP “Veteran” Yogyakarta.

The Pradiksarmil is an annual program for Menwa Kalimasada, held in order to prepare for new candidates who will participate in the Military Basic Education conducted in cooperation with Indonesia’s National Military (TNI). The study materials presented in a Military Basic Education include Leadership, Student Regiment Unit knowledge, Staff Organization Basics, Student Regiment General Administration, Ways to Give Instructions, General Regulation of Internal Duties, Pioneering, Mountaineering, Survival, Knowledge of Snakes, IMPK and TKK.

Head of Kalimasada Students’ Regiment, A. Nugraha Dudik I. P.Soediman, explained that Pradiksarmil is held to prepare mental and physical toughness for the Menwa (Student Regiment) candidates before they receive the direct lessons from Military Personnel from Rindam IV Diponegore, Magelang, Central Java on February 16th, 2016

This activity was formally opened by Deputy Rector III of UPN “Veteran” Yogyakarta commissioning Student’s Affairs and Cooperation, Dr. Ir. SinggihSaptono M.T. and was closed by Ir. Bambang Wicaksono, M.T, , as the Head of State Defense Development Center of UPN “Veteran” Yogyakarta. The legality of Kalimasada Students’ Regiment is supported by the Permit for Specific Activities UPN “Veteran” Yogyakarta, Number: SIK/18/UN 61/2017. To monitor the progress of the activities conducted and to avoid unintended incidents, such activities have been coordinated with the relevant authorities, including the Sub-village Head (Kadus), Sub-district Head (Kades), Police Station of Prambanan and Sector Police Office of Sleman (Polres).

“No physical contacts are permissible in our education. We are optimistic that there are various alternative to build good mental and physical strength for our students. We are committed to complying with the university regulations and observing the statutory regulation applicable in Indonesia”, says the Commandant of Kalimasada Students’ Regiment.
