SLEMAN - 24 participants of education and training of Oil and Gas Safety and Security (K3) for operators and supervisors level in mining and petroleum field, conducted a simulation of fire handling organized by UPNVY Mineral Geotechnology Research Center at Campus UPN Babarsari field on Saturday 24/02/2018).
"This training activity as a form of commitment to the improvement of K3 especially firedrill, ensures that the participants understand the actions taken to arise sense of security," said Head of Research Center for Mineral Geotechnology UPNVY, Dr. Nur Suhascaryo.
Nur said that the fire handling training conducted on the third day of this training held a briefing theory and practice of using light fire extinguishers (Apar), and fire fighting techniques where each participant got the opportunity to do minor fire fighting techniques.
"All participants are involved in fire prevention and identification training, under the guidance of experienced and senior instructors in OSH field, with the aim to achieve the implemented science and the emergency response team can carry out the tasks and prevent the occurrence of fire," he said.
Nur said the training was to prepare UPNVY graduates and professionals in the mining and oil and gas industries who would be competent to deal the competition.
The training held for 4 days from 22 - 25 February 2018 would be held again on 22-25 March. (wwj / humas)
