The Head of Public Relations and Cooperation, Markus Kusnardijanto, said the Independent Selection was an enterance selection organized independently by UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta, independent selection path opens for high school / vocational / equivalent students who will continue to high education level. It is for those who graduated in 2016, 2017 and 2018. The Independent Selection of UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta of the academic year 2018/2019 only opens for Undergraduate programs and Diploma programs. The Independent Selection of UPNVY does not require a UTBK exam (Computer Base Writing Test), it only requires a test of UTBC (Print-Based Writing Test).

"The location of the independent selection exam of academic year 2018/2019 will be held in 6 locations throughout Indonesia, including in Yogyakarta, Jakarta, Pekanbaru, Bontang, Balikpapan and Banjarmasin," concluded Markus.
