SLEMAN - UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta (UPNVY) and PT Bukit Asam (PT BA) are committed to improvE the quality of mining resources. This commitment is set in the Memorandum of Understanding of both parties signed by the Rector of UPNVY, Prof. Sari Bahagiarti and Director of Human Resources and General PT.BA, Joko Pramono, in UPN Condongcatur Campus, Thursday (19/07/2018).

"The cooperation between UPN and PT BA has been running harmoniously during this time. In addition to the Faculty of Mineral Technology, various curriculum courses are also directed to support the mining world, "Sari said in her speech.

In addition to mining processing, Sari continued, several lecturers are also conducting post-mining area management research.

 On the same occasion Joko said that the post-mining area research has been done by UPNVY in cooperation with PT BA such as sorghum cultivation.

"We want to develop the post-mining area in the future as ecotourism. We are committed to be a company that performs well and still conserves nature, " he said.

Joko also said that currently PT BA is incorporated in INALUM mining holding industry. The establishment of Holding Mining Industry aims to increase the business and funding capacity, management of natural resources of mineral and coal, increase the added value through the downstream and increase local content, and cost efficiency of synergy.

The establishment of this head company, according to Joko, will require more and more competent human resources.

"We need competence from all fields. We invite the young students of UPN to join PT BA, both for the internships and in the recruitment process, " said the UPNVY alumni.

The scopes of cooperation are education, training, and community service, research and development, workshops, training, seminars, exhibitions and other scientific activities, consulting services. In addition to geology and mining, the parties agreed for the power generation, infrastructure, coal beneficiation, environment, energy, human resources development, and other areas.
