SLEMAN - After graduating from senior high school (SMA), students must be smart in choosing a higher education institute. The chosen university must be in accordance with a student’s interests and abilities. The Deputy Dean of the General and Financial Affairs at the Faculty of Industrial Engineering at UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta (UPNVY) HidayatulahHimawan, S.T., M.M., M.Eng explained this during a visit from students and teachers from Kranggan 1 Public High School in Rembang, on Friday (9/11) in the Lecture Room at the Pattimura Building on the Tambakbayan Campus.

According to Iwan, which is his nickname, students need to be smart in selecting higher education institutes and their courses after graduating from high school .

During the visit, Iwan informed that UPNVY will select new student admissions for 2019. There are three admission paths, namely through the National Selection for State University Entrance platform (SNMPTN), the Joint Selection for State University Entrance (SBMPTN), and the Independent Selection for State University Entrance (SMPTN).

The Chairperson of the Informatics Engineering Department, BambangYuwono, S.T., M.T. explained that to support the implementation of the Indonesian National Curriculum Framework (KKNI) based curriculum,  the UPNVY Informatics Engineering Department graduates must have a professional certificate.

The professional certification process is implemented in cooperation with the National Professional Certification Agency (BNSP) and the Professional Certification Institution (LSP) for domestic purposes.

"Meanwhile, on the international level, this is the result of cooperation with Multimatic, and cooperation with Cisco will be explored in the future," Bambang said.

UPNVY Informatics Engineering Department graduates with professional certification  are considered to be equivalent to graduates from the Informatics Engineering Department of other universities in Indonesia and abroad.

The Guidance and Counseling Service Unit Coordinator at Kragan 1 Public Senior High School, M. Yusuf Hasyim, S.Pd., M.Sc., Kons expressed his appreciation to UPNVY for the visit.
