PREPARATION OF PKM 2019, UPNVY HELD A TRANING FOR LECTURERS AND STUDENTS :: dipost pada 03 Januari 2019

Sleman – Students’ Affairs Department of UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta held a training of proposal writing of the Student Creativity Program (PKM) for lecturers and students. This activity was carried out for the preparation of the 2019 Student Creativity Program (PKM) contest held by the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education. The presentation material was delivered by Prof. Dr. Kuncoro Diharjo, as Head of the Technology Innovation Division of the Business Development Agency. This activity was held on the 5th  floor of the Rectorate Building, Wednesday (2/1/2019).

The Head of Student Affairs of UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta, Pradopo Hesti S, S. Sos., MM, said that this activity was an effort of UPN "Veteran" Yogakarta to improve the quality and quantity of the Student Creativity Program funded by the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education. “I hope that students who take part in the Student Creativity Program will later get grants from the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education and pass the selection to the National Student Science Week. In addition, I hope that the prospective lecturers can direct their guidance so that the proposals submitted are on target and in accordance with the 2018 PKM guidelines”.

At the opening ceremony, Deputy Chancellor for Student Affairs, Cooperation and Planning, Dr. Ir. Singgih Saptono, MT said that hopefully the proposals submitted to the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education would pass to the 2019 PIMNAS by having the training of PKM proposal writing activities.

 "Through this Community Creativity Program, students are expected to be members of the community who have academic abilities that can implement, develop and disseminate knowledge," he added.

Whereas in his remarks, the Chancellor of UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta, said that he highly appreciated this activity because it was expected to improve the quality of PKM proposals made by UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta students to compete with PKM made by other Universities.

The Chancellor added that to develop PKM in UPNVY could be done through several approaches, namely the approach between assistant lecturers, students and curriculum. This approach is expected to be able to establish the continuity of the PKM development strategy so that the proposal can be optimized and on target. The Chancellor advised the leaders and lecturers of each faculty to provide the budget for PKM activities.

Furthermore, the material which was presented by the speakers from Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Prof. Dr. Kuncoro Diharjo, MT, were 8 general criteria for PMK for the 2019 guidance, namely PKM-P, PKM-M, PKM-T, PKM-KC, PKM-AI, PKM-GT and PKM-GTK.

In his presentation, it is mentioned that the proposal that passes the selection will get funding to carry out the activities proposed in the PKM proposal. After getting funds, the students carry out their activities program. In the middle of the program, Risrekdikti will conduct monitoring and evaluation (monev). The results of the monitoring and evaluation determine whether PKM participants are eligible to take part in the final stage of PKM activities, namely PIMNAS. The participants will compete with other participants from all over Indonesia in the PIMNAS level.
