Karel Lutan Warda, a student in Mining Engineering, Faculty of Mineral Technology who graduated on Saturday (1/12/2019) as an example.
In the Diploma, Bachelor, and Masters Graduation Ceremony for the Second Period of the 2018/2019 Academic Year, he achieved cumlaude scores with a Cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.91. This graduate from Bekasi also won the Scholar Work with a total score of 1,043. It is an award given to students with academic achievements, graduating in a short time, achieving off-campus, and active in organizational and social activities.
According to Karel, the achievements he had achieved at this time were due to the support of the closest people, namely friends.
"Without my friends, it is impossible to finish my college on time and take part in various championships," he said.
During his time as a student, the alumni of SMA 1 Bekasi were actively participating in the championship in the mining sector. He was once the third winner of General Champion of the 2016 UPN Mining Competition, Second Winner of the Dynamic Cone Penetrometer UPN Mining Competition 2016, Second Winner of the Rock ID Mining Competition, the First General Champion of the UPN Mining Competition 2017.
He again won the championship in 2018. Karel won the 3rd place at Buma Mining Competition 2018, the third General Champion of Mining Competition at the 11th Indonesian Students Mining Competition 2018 at ITB, the second General Champion of Engineering Student Competition Week IV 2017 at Trisakti University, the first Champion of the Mine Software and Written Test in Engineering Smart Competition 2017 at Trisakti University. Finally, he won the 1st Blasting Vibration Analysis at 11th ISMC 2018 at ITB.
Karel admitted that his activities in the competitions were quite time-consuming. Moreover, he also had to divide his time for being an Assistant Lecturer and administrator of HMPS Mining Engineering.
In addition, Karel also participated in various seminars and committees on campus and outside the campus.
"Sometimes I often get sleepy in class. If we have lots of friends, they can help you when you need notes or discussions about the assignments. Establishing friendliness and helping each other will be beneficial”, he said. (wwj / PR)
